Cherelle "FEENiX" Daniels is a seventeen year old female artist/songwriter/activist who was born in Columbus, GA but raised mostly in Mongtgomery, AL. Many people saw this young lady as an inspirational, beautiful, intelligent young leader. She began doing public speaking, crime stopping, and charity work at a young age. Cherelle was mostly known in Montgomery for her academic success, sports, and being a young activist. She won awards from astonishing organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta for outstanding academic success and character, Alabama State University's Talent Search Program granted her the Diamond Award of Excellence, The Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals recognized her for outstanding academic success, and she was the second runner-up for Career Tech Student of the year in Business/Marketing for Middle/Jr. High Schools in 2009, along with many more honors.
Cherelle gained much recognition when she campaigned in front of the Montgomery School Board to keep her Jr. High School, Houston Hill Jr. High, from closing due to low student enrollment. She urged them to look beyond the population and visualize the true greatness behind that school. Her school was the only one out of three that remained open. Many community people felt she was one of the main reasons, due to her outstanding speech and efforts. That same year she won valedictorian of her graduating 9th grade class. That summer Cherelle and her family moved back to their hometown of Columbus, Ga. She was a sophomore in high school and later that year she discovered something new within herself.
On March 9, 2010 she was with a group of friends who had a rap group and she told them she was a good writter. They asked her to help one of the young ladies in the group write a verse and the next thing you know Cherelle was performing her own verse at a talent show audition the next morning. The group didn't make the cut, but a few of the dj's and local artists took a liking to her and told her she should consider making this a career and going solo. After a lot of group issues and tough consideration, Cherelle finally decided to pursue music and a solo career. This is the day she became known as FEENiX, one of the hottest young female rappers in the South.
After only three months in the game, she began getting booked for shows throughout Georgia. In the summer of 2010 she wore three different faces in one show for the Columbus Times Newspaper Back to School Concert where she opened the event with a motivational speech and poem, followed by modeling her style of clothing, and finally a grand performance. In January 2011 she released her first single "How You Do Dat". Next thing you know she was opening for acts such as Dirty Boys, Pastor Troy, etc. In May of 2011 she was asked to do something very few local artists have the opportunity to do. FEENiX was asked to open up a fight for the MMA/GBA in Milledgeville, Ga. This was not only a great opportunity for FEENiX to get seen but an opportunity for her to break the genre barrier. She approached her producer and told him of the opportunity. She also told him she wanted to do a song to a rock style beat. He arranged for a live electric guitar to be played for her to rap to in the studio. After a long night of recording, she completed the song. The next evening she was performing live in a cage in front of a crowd that differed from any other she'd ever performed for. That night she was respected as a diverse artist and gained many new fans from various ethnicities.
In the summer of 2011 her first single/video was voted the number one video in Columbus, GA. in a competion run by the Courier Newspaper. That same summer she returned to the Columbus Times Newspaper Summerfest as a featured artist and was a spokesperson for it on almost every radio station in Columbus, GA. FEENiX released her first independent album online on August 9th, 2011 entitled "SENiOR YEAR". The album is available on iTUNES, Rhapsody, Napster, and Zune. She is looking forward to pushing it by promoting it on a tour where she visits middle schools and high schools all over the country and delivers a motivational speech and performance that encourages her peers to embrace the obstacles life sets forth and use them as tools to establish a successful positive life. FEENiX is also looking forward to doing work with Dirty South TV since she was the selected artist to represent Alabama in their new Artist Development Program. Many say she will be the next big icon.
